Summary:
The business project manager will be primarily responsible for a product taxonomy project, which is providing structure definition, governance, and will deliver enterprise reference data to populate that structure.
The project manager will also support a reference data management project.
The ideal candidate will need to be able to develop and maintain project plans (MS Project) and understand business processes, organizational change management, and how to interface/coordinate with IT for support on any technical activities.
Candidates with manufacturing industry experience will be given special consideration.
Responsibilities:
Lead project team through all phases of Project Lifecycle Monitor critical path of project activities and institute risk management initiatives Develop and maintain a project plan and a detailed and accurate schedule Identify, manage, record, and update project risks and issues, escalating where necessary Facilitate regular team meetings to review issues, risks, and monitor project process Understand project resource needs and how the commitments are filled Develop or facilitate project documentation and stage gate reviews Monitor project progress and performance Provide status reports to program manager and critical project stakeholders Manage project scope and follow change control process Maintain a cooperative, motivated, and successful team Resolve cross-functional challenges within the project Follow-up on, communicate, and document key decisions and actions Champion the adoption of new ways of working within project team Manage project budget (where applicable) Partnering with eCMO Change Manager as appropriate, to develop plans that support project adoption and sustainment When working with an IT/Technical PM lead the business team and collaborate with technical PM and resources to integrate technical components and deliverables within the overall business solution project plan Expectations:
Disciplined maintenance of project artifacts and updates within program structure Become knowledgeable on the project content (understanding scope, requirements, and implementation deliverables) Create clarity within team and respect roles and allocations, align within project plan Identify scope creep and challenge project champion and team if tasks are out-of-scope Be an advocate for the project team (protect the team) Influence project teams for quality in scope & objectives Know when and how to escalate (and if unsure ask) Create accountability & commitment Align team on milestones, status, deliverables and timeline Engage Business PM, Project Champion, Sponsors, Program Managers and/ or Regional leaders if faced with challenges (where appropriate) Be available and responsive to the project team and stakeholders on ongoing basis Empower team and set team up for success in project delivery (team are experts, servant leader, remove roadblocks) Celebrate team successes Build and monitor team health All employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug and background screening.
