30 pm - 10 Hour Days) This entry level, R&D/QC position will be responsible for analyzing raw materials as well as testing finished products such as aggregates, cement, and other related dry products for our plant.
The employee will perform in a full-functioning capacity.
Independent judging is used to make decisions in carrying out assignments that may impact product production.
Guidelines will be available, but require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.
This person must work closely with technical director and production personnel to meet our quality standards.
Teamwork with other company supervisors and peers is a must.
Must maintain laboratory equipment in proper clean working order and ensure laboratory conditions are within standards.
Ensures that all procedures are followed and maintain meticulous logs related to product performance.
In addition to performing R&D and QC tasks this individual will work closely with the Technical Director and may be asked to assist in making product samples; prepare custom color matches and assist with other department related projects.
Responsibilities:
Daily testing of cement-based products.
Generate weekly Quality Control reports Support Technical Department with various daily tasks Support related projects and perform quality control testing in a laboratory environment.
Maintain all laboratory equipment.
Interact with manufacturing, R & D, technical services, sales and marketing departments.
Maintain laboratory notebook and operate computerized color matching system.
Interact effectively with customer as directed by supervisor Generation and reporting of technical data of existing and developmental products.
Provide data to generate weekly pass / fail and consistency reports.
Job Requirements Strong Mathematical skills required.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Able to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment with ever changing demands.
Self-starter and can work alone with minimal supervision.
Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Computer proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Associates degree or higher in chemistry preferred.
Able to lift 75 lbs.
1 - 2 Years experience preferred (Construction, laboratory or production related) Job Type:
